One Good Hand is Growing

It's been awhile since we've updated everyone. One Good Hand is quickly growing into Oregon's premier social network. We house a member base of 1000+ individuals now and still increasing. Be sure to watch over the next several months as we bring some new opportunities to our members and some new activities. We're proud to host all of you and to play poker with everyone and we look forward to the new members we are getting ready to which we are reaching out.

Starting Sunday, December 9th, One Good Hand's next expansion will be 108 Bar & Grill in the Gateway area. We will be offering our normal repertoire of cash tables with $.25/.50 blinds and a $20 to $60 buy in structure. 108 will also be offering much to those who find that Hold em is becoming stale or just want to try some new things. Take a look at the schedule page for Gateway and see that we're offering several styles of tournaments. The popular PLO8 games will be offered as well as stripping away the low side and offering some straight PLO games. We'll also begin offering Big-O, which is a 5 card variation of PLO8, as well as an oldie, Pineapple.

The big new push out there will be our H.O.R.S.E. tournament. This brings an exciting new challenge for players who have wanted to look at and play some different poker games. Be sure to let us know you're interested in H.O.R.S.E. so we can contact you directly about that tournie.

Simultaneous to 108 we have Cider Mill out in the Southwest for you folks on the other side of town. Cider Mill is now hosting $.25/.50 with a $20-100 buy in and will soon begin offering some tournaments through the week. We hope the environment and games suit our players from the Beaverton and beyond areas and look forward to seeing new faces come into the game.

Coming in January we have one more location to be announced as well as the 2013 Quarter-1 Heads Up Championship. We'll be taking registrations from all our locations for a heads up championship spanning Cider Mill, Rialto, Claudia's, Bar 108 and others. The best of the best from each location will match up in a final battle for the ultimate showdown. More details to come.

Heads Up Tournament Structure

Hey folks! As we draw nearer to the heads up tournament on the 21st we are nailing down the structure for you guys.
The tournament will take place as a ladder. $30 Buy in with no rebuys or addons. When you come in we'll randomly choose matches by drawing numbers. Your number will determine who you play against in your first match. The first matches will be pass deal, best 2 out of 3 to proceed to second round. Starting stacks will be 6,250 with starting blinds of 50/100. Blind rounds will be 10 minutes long. Blinds will proceed as such:
50/100
100/200
150/300
200/400
300/600
400/800
500/1000
1000/2000
(Matches may be capped at 2000 Big Blind, we'll have to assess based on time.)

If you win your first round, you'll start Round 2 with your won chip stack. So stacks will go:
Round 1 - $6,250 stack w/ $50/100 Blinds starting
Round 2 - $12,500 stack w/ $50/100 Blinds starting
Round 3 - $25,000 stack w/ $100/200 Blinds starting
Round 4 - $50,000 stack w/ $200/400 Blinds starting
Finals - $100,000 stack w/ $300/600 Blinds starting

Round 4 and the Finals will be determined by best 3 out of 5 matches. Round 4 will determine the money winners. The losers of the round 4 matches will go to a heads up match to determine 4th Place and 3rd Place payouts. The winners of Round will will go to Finals heads up match to determine 2nd Place and 1st Place.

At the beginning of the tournament we'll have a quick shuffling demonstration to ensure everyone is getting the chance for even hands played for any match. Payouts are based on full 36 person entry. If you draw for one of the prelim matches to get into the top 32 the buy in will only be $20. These matches will play the same structure without advancing stacks into main rounds.
Payouts again are
4th Place - $100
3rd Place - $150
2nd Place - $250
1st Place - $500

Good luck, we're looking forward to what is hopefully the first of steady heads up tournaments.
